Description | FORT BEND COUNTYDEPARTMENT: EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICEJOB TITLE: PARAMEDIC PART-TIME
JOB SUMMARY: Working with a senior paramedic, provides emergency medical care to the citizens of Fort Bend County as stated in established standards, procedures and protocols. Participates in planning of programs, policies or objectives for own work group and department.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Under the direction and guidance of a senior paramedic, responds to requests for emergency medical service. Assesses patient’s needs and provides medical care as needed and transports patients to an appropriate medical facility, determined by policy and/or protocol. Prepares necessary reports as required. Maintains emergency vehicle inventory of medical supplies. Maintains condition of ambulance and station. May acts as lead medical provider when required. Assists other employees with their duties. Signs for and is held accountable for equipment used. Participates in activities and duties related to emergency management during a local state of disaster as directed by appropriate county managers.
REQUIREMENTS: High School/GED; Certified or Licensed Texas Paramedic. Current employment as a Paramedic in a 9-1-1 EMS service with a comparable call volume to FBCEMS; or employment in a hospital setting (e.g. critical care or emergency room technician). Strong verbal and written communication, and organizational skills; Interpersonal skills and ability to deal effectively with the public, other employees and elected officials; Ability to complete projects. Applicants must pass the Fort Bend County Emergency Medical Services entrance written and skills examination; Must work, or be scheduled [as available] for a minimum of 24 hours per month; Maintain a State of Texas Valid Driver’s License.
SALARY: Part-Time $16.88 Per hour, up to 28 Hours per week CLOSING DATE: Upon filling position
