Description | FORT BEND COUNTYDEPARTMENT: EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICEJOB TITLE: PARAMEDIC APPRENTICE
JOB SUMMARY: Provides emergency medical care to the citizens of Fort Bend County as stated in established standards and procedures. Participates in planning of programs, policies or objectives for own work group and department.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Provides emergency pre-hospital medical care to the sick and injured within Fort Bend County. Operates emergency ambulance unit. Maintains emergency medical equipment inventory on ambulance unit. Completes Phase 1 through 3 of field internship consisting of entry-level competencies and operational procedures under the supervision and evaluation of a Field Training Officer. Completes Fast-Track Paramedic Academy which includes instruction on patient care protocols and procedures and advanced written and practical skills evaluations. Successfully completes Paramedic I written and practical skills evaluation for entry level Paramedic I. Participates in activities and duties related to emergency management during a local state of disaster as directed by appropriate county managers.
REQUIREMENTS: High school diploma/GED; State of Texas Certified/ Licensed Paramedic is required. No previous experience required. Strong verbal and written communication and organizational skills; Interpersonal skills and ability to deal effectively with the public, other employees and elected officials; Ability to complete projects. Valid TX Driver’s License.
SALARY RANGE: EMS Grade P-A, $1,987.87 - $2,338.53 biweekly based on qualifications CLOSING DATE: Upon filling position
