Description | JOB SUMMARY Under the general direction of the Director of Finance, the Assistant Director of Finance assists in the management of City fiscal matters. Responsible for various accounting activities, including banking transactions, accounting systems, and the annual audit process and reporting. Assists in the budget process, which will require preparation of data, analyses, and reporting capabilities. Supervise assigned staff.
SUPERVISION RECEIVES direct supervision from the Director of Finance. EXERCISES supervision over assigned Finance Department staff.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education, Training and Experience Guidelines: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a closely related field is required, with a minimum of two years’ experience in a professional general or government accounting environment. A combination of education and experience may substitute for the minimum qualifications.
Licenses and/or Certifications: Certified Government Finance Officer (CGFO) or similar government finance certification must be obtained within two years from date of hire. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification is preferred, but not required.
