The Town of North Yarmouth is currently seeking its first Fulltime Firefighter Paramedic.  North Yarmouth is a combination department with excellent pay and an outstanding team. Ideal candidates are highly motivated, self-starters. The position of Firefighter/Paramedic provides emergency medical and firefighting services, participates in community risk reduction events, provides life-safety inspections, attend drills and training, inspect and maintain equipment, and perform any other related duties.

 North Yarmouth is a small rural town north of Portland, Maine with a population of just over 4000 people and comprised of 21.22 square miles. Many residents work in the greater Portland area, as well as in town. Freeport, Yarmouth, and Falmouth are nearby communities. It is bisected by the Royal River, a well-used source of community recreation, as it travels through North Yarmouth to the Atlantic. Small businesses thrive here, including convenience stores, cafes, offices, and other companies, including Toddy Brook Golf Course. The town has Christmas tree farms, orchards, greenhouses, and a garden center, assuring that it stays in touch with its prized agricultural roots.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• A valid appropriate State of Maine driver’s license
• Current EMT-P licensure in good standing
• Advanced EMT’s that are currently enrolled in a paramedic program are encouraged to apply.
• Firefighter 1
• CPR certification
• ACLS, PALS or PEEP, PHTLS or ITLS
• Emergency Vehicle Operator Course or equivalent certification
• Basic Pump Operator Corse or equivalent
• Physical strength and agility to allow for performing firefighting, EMS, and rescue responsibilities.
